About Us
The Dossier is an independent online magazine committed to reporting the truth. We believe people should live by the truth and be willing to bear it. That is the only allegiance we hold.
Reporting it is no easy job, as anyone who follows the Indian media will know. We like to argue in depth, with evidence. We want to give readers something worth reading, and worth arguing with.
Our coverage spans politics, society, religion, culture and law. We publish essays, commentary, analysis, interviews, book reviews, photo essays and reportage: work grounded in fact and carried by narrative.
Launched in April 2025, The Dossier is an initiative of the Hindu Cafe Foundation.
