Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Congress President Sonia Gandhi’s NGOs Rajiv Gandhi Foundation, Rajiv Gandhi Charitable Trust and Indira Gandhi Memorial Trust is facing alleged violations of money laundering Act, Income Tax Act, and Foreign Contribution Regulation Act.
The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has constituted an inter-ministerial committee to probe the violations. A senior official of the Enforcement Directorate will head the committee. Congress called the ministry’s decision “wholly vicious and vengeful”. Party media-in charge Randeep Surjewala said the Congress leadership will not be ‘intimidated’ by “blind witch hunt”.

“A desperate Modi-Shah government has fallen back on a devious hounding of those exposing its ineptitude by ordering a wholly vicious and vengeful investigation of the Rajiv Gandhi Charitable Trust and the Indira Gandhi Memorial Trust,” Surjewala added.
Congress also demanded the government to explain the “unexplained donations to the PM’s fund by Chinese entities and continued promotion of Chinese-owned businesses”. The party also added that an inquiry must be made into the source of funding and donors for the “Overseas Friends of BJP”.

BJP has refuted such allegations of political vendetta. “The government would not have waited for six years to order a probe if it had been at all politically motivated,” BJP general secretary P. Muralidhar Rao said. He also denied other allegations made by the Congress leaders regarding the funding from China and said that the party strives for the economic growth of the country and has never given any sort of direct/indirect strength to enemy countries.
The Indira Gandhi Memorial Trust is not an FCRA registered association and hence cannot receive foreign help/donations. The total foreign contribution in its account carried forward from previous years is INR 4,03,64,727.
Both parties have been accusing each other of political vendetta and friendship with the enemies and with Chinese troops in the LoC and the current tensions between the two countries, these serious allegations may affect the future of both the parties and put them in jeopardy. сбербанк займ на картузайм под залог птс иркутскчастный займ при личной встрече москва ндфл беспроцентный займзайм экспресс спб адресапервый займ бесплатный
